Founded in 2001 by Gary Poole, the Westman Junior Golf Tour was created to give young golfers more places to play, compete, have fun, and make friends.

For more than 25 years, the WJGT has brought together junior golfers from across Manitoba and Saskatchewan, helping them gain tournament experience, build confidence, and fall in love with the game. The tour has a proud history of helping players grow, with many moving on to compete at the provincial, college, and professional level.

At the end of the 2026 season, Gary announced his retirement as a golf professional, celebrating over 40 years in the industry and 26 years of running the tour.

The Westman Junior Golf Tour will carry on Gary’s legacy with the help of EVO Golf, owned by Austin Dobrescu, a past WJGT player whose own competitive golf journey started on this tour.
